TERMS & CONDITIONS

 

  1. DEFINITIONS

1.1. “The Contractor” refers to RenoMasters, the renovation company providing services to the client.

1.2. “Client” refers to the person, firm, or company contracting RenoMasters for services.

1.3. “Services” refers to the renovation work that RenoMasters will provide to the Client as detailed in the Estimate.

1.4. “Estimate” refers to the document prepared by RenoMasters outlining the Services to be provided and the estimated costs.

 

  1. GOVERNING LAW
  • These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Scottish law, and the parties hereby submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.

 

  1. ENTIRE AGREEMENT
  • These terms and conditions constitute the entire agreement between RenoMasters, The Contractor, and the Client, superseding all previous agreements, understandings, and arrangements, whether written or verbal, between the parties.

 

  1. MISSED APPOINTMENT FEE
  • If a Client fails to attend a scheduled appointment without at least 48h hours’ notice, RenoMasters reserves the right to charge a missed appointment fee of £80.00 to cover any costs incurred.

 

  1. WORK SCHEDULE
  • The Contractor will commence work on the agreed-upon date and work continuously until completion.
  • The Client must provide access to the site, including keys and security codes, during working hours.
  • Delays caused by the Client will not render the Contractor responsible for additional costs or time.

 

  1. SITE CONDITIONS
  • The Client must ensure that the work area is free of hazardous materials/valuable items and is safe to work in.
  • The Client must provide access to water and electricity at the job site.
  • If hazardous materials/valuable items are discovered/destroyed during the work, the Contractor will not be held responsible for additional costs.

 

  1. PAYMENT TERMS
  • The Client agrees to pay the full amount of the agreed-upon price before work commences.
  • Additional work or changes made after contract signing will incur extra fees, billed separately.
  • Payment is due within 7 days of receiving the invoice, payable in cash or preferably by direct bank transfer.

RenoMasters does not accept credit or debit card payments.

Cheques are generally not accepted, with exceptions possible.

 

  1. DEPOSIT AND INSTALMENT PAYMENTS
  • RenoMasters requires a 20% deposit of the total estimate value before commencing work.
  • Advance instalment payments are required every week or two weeks, as agreed upon.

 

  1. WORKS TERMINATION POLICY
  • The Client may terminate the contract by providing written notice to the Contractor, giving at least 4 weeks’ notice.
  • The Contractor may terminate the contract for breaches or if the work site is deemed unsafe, charging the client 50% of the work quotation to cover losses.

 

  1. LATE WORK CANCELLATION FEE
  • Client’s Cancellations with more than 4 weeks’ notice are free, but the Contractor may demand 50% of future estimates/arrangements.
  • Client’s Cancellations within 4 weeks will incur a 25% fee, plus an estimate preparation fee of £150.00.
  • Client’s Cancellations within 48 hours, will incur full estimate amount plus an estimate preparation fee of £150.00.

 

  1. LATE PAYMENT INTERESTS
  • RenoMasters will charge 8% interest per annum on overdue payments from non-commercial customers, following the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 for commercial customers.

 

  1. WARRANTY
  • All work is guaranteed for defects in workmanship for 1 year. The warranty excludes damage from misuse, negligence, normal wear and tear, third-party actions, appliances, or materials. RenoMasters may cancel the warranty for delayed payments exceeding 4 weeks.

 

  1. LIABILITY
  • The Contractor is not liable for damages, injury, or loss during work, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct. The Client is responsible for obtaining necessary permits or approvals.

 

  1. CONFIDENTIALITY
  • The Contractor agrees to keep all client information and project details confidential.

 

  1. AMENDMENTS
  • This contract may be amended at any time by mutual written agreement between the Client and the Contractor.

 

  1. DISPUTE RESOLUTION
  • Any disputes arising will be resolved through arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

 

  1. VAT
  • RenoMasters is not VAT registered, and VAT is not applicable.
